« Toute Écriture est inspirée par Dieu et utile pour enseigner, pour convaincre, pour redresser, pour éduquer dans la justice ». (2 Timothée 3.16).\n

Même si tout le monde reconnaît la véracité de cette parole de l’apôtre Paul, certains passages des Écritures sont assurément moins connus et prêchés dans nos Églises. L’Épître aux Hébreux en est un bon exemple. Il est possible que ses innombrables références à l'Ancien Testament, la présence de personnages mystérieux tels que Melchisédek, l'emploi de méthodes juives d'interprétation et de terrifiants passages d'avertissement aient contribué à ce silence. Pourtant, ce livre est l’un des plus importants et des plus fondamentaux du Nouveau Testament pour notre compréhension du passage entre l'ancienne et la nouvelle alliance. Ses implications pour notre théologie sont multiples.\n
