L’histoire est constituée d’hommes et de femmes qui ont marqués, chacun à leur façon, la trame de ce monde tel qu’on le connait. Des noms célèbres garnissent les pages des livres qui rappellent le passé. Or ces personnages sont en fait une minorité. La plupart de nos ancêtres n’ont laissé que peu de traces de leur passage.

La femme, bien que moins présente dans le registre historique, n’en demeure pas moins une contributrice de premier ordre. À leur manière, elles ont participé au développement de notre civilisation, de notre descendance et de notre foi.

L’influence féminine est une réalité documentée qui peut être appréciée lorsque l’on regarde de plus près. Dans le royaume de Dieu, la femme aussi bien que l’homme, a travaillé à ce que son règne vienne. Ce cours nous introduit à l’inspirante et courageuse contribution des femmes, et démontre leurs grandes valeurs pour l’Église, la théologie, la foi et la famille. Nous parcourrons, en deux millénaires, les moments clés et les apports significatifs des femmes, de la Rome antique jusqu’aux débats contemporains, dans le but d’apprécier la contribution féminine et même, de modeler la vie et la foi de certaines d’entre elles. Car au-delà des informations historiques, il y a des amitiés qui nous attendent bien sagement…
